Snoring

Jamie again, "guest blogging" for Amanda while she sleeps up in the parents sleeping dorm, hopefully soundly for the first time in two weeks. Hazel sounded pretty ragged for the first few hours after she came back from the OR, but they gave her a couple of nebulizer treatments -- which actually worked this time since she no longer had a battery in there -- and she settled down quite nicely. That is, except for the fact that she has already managed to pull out one of her brand new IV lines and her A-line -- without actually waking up. Oh well, they say it's not a big deal because they will be able to reduce the number of drips she is getting -- I see two fewer than yesterday, anyway. They also reduced her sedatives, so hopefully she will be up a little bit today. I am just sitting here staring at what without the whole respirator apparatus is starting to look like a very filthy and tired version of my baby.

So glad to hear the good news. Any improvements in her condition are a blessing. Hopefully this is the begining of the end of their hospital stay. I bet everyone is looking forward to getting home and resuming a normal way of life.

Big hugs to you and Amanda. Lots of kisses to Hazel.

How is Amanda's MS behaving? I have a feeling that Hazel is going to grow up and see what an amazingly strong mother she has. My thoughts are still with you all.

Hello, This is Jacque again, Jordan Arnold's Aunt. I am SO blessed to know Hazel seems to be improving daily! Praise the Lord! I did put her on my church's prayer chain and it was subsequently forwarded onto other prayer chains around the country. Also a friend of mine put the prayer out on her facebook account too! Hazel had so many people praying for her. I have sent out an update and request also for continued prayer as she is still recovering! I am so happy for you and your family! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pray for your beautiful little baby girl! God Bless you and yours!

Jamie- I love your posts! Keep them coming.

Amanda- I am so happy to hear that you're (notice the correct usage???) finally taking advatage of the parents sleeping room. They aren't the best but its great when you are over tired. And I'm sure you are a walking zombie at this point. Keep getting sleep. Hazel will be home soon getting into everything and running you ragged.

My continued blessings and wishes as she continues to improve.

My heart goes out to you and your family. You have been incredibly strong through this nightmare and Hazel is so lucky to have you both as parents. Know that you are in the thoughts and hearts of every Mother and parent who hears of your story. Stay well and I hope things only continue to get better for Hazel.

Jaime and Amanda - I am so glad to hear that Hazel is improving. It brought tears to my eyes to see the photos of you with her and of her sitting up in bed looking like she's just kicked some serious ass and is ready to do the same to anyone else who attempts to mess with her! You are all so strong and amazing. I'm thinking of you everyday and sharing your experience so that other parents can be aware of the dangers of batteries. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

Just another stranger that has been following your story. As a mother myself I can not even imagine what you are all going through. There hasn't been a day go by since reading your blog that I haven't thought and prayed for your beautiful little Hazel.
Thank you for sharing your story to help make us all aware of the dangers of batteries. I will be more aware of them now and forward along your message.
I will continue to pray for all of you!
