Your poor sweet little girl. She looks like a trooper. One day I hope she'll look back on these photos and laugh. I know they put a smile on my face.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It's stories like these that make parents like myself take a step back and take in the big picture. To love your babes and to trust your gut.

God Bless and I'll continue praying for a speedy recovery for Hazel.

Poor thing looks like she has been through it! So glad that she is up, awake and breathing on her own. Thank you for posting about the dangers of button batteries. I am going to send this to everyone I know with small children so they will know and hopefully will be able to avoid this same nightmare.

I will continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers until your beautiful little girl is safe at home.

I'm so glad to see little Hazel up and playing! I heard about her struggle through my sister Lily Leiva and have forwarded your site to several friends and family who have little kids. We have all been thinking about little Hazel and praying for her recovery which I know will come day by day. Thanks for sharing your story and warning others. I have a 14 month old who puts everything in his mouth and can see how this could easily happen.
Much love and prayers,

I have had you and your family in my prayers. My mom is praying for all of you and your beautiful daughter, Hazel, at her daily prayer meetings. She has so many prayers coming from all over. We will cheer her on and pray for her as she conquers this battle. I have a four year old son who means the world to me and I know that at any age these types of accidents can occur. We are praying for your family daily! Thank you for empowering so many people with this story and courageous battle Hazel is fighting.

She does look like a trooper (as someone else already mentioned). Go, Hazel!

I'm thinking the addition of the guitar means you are hoping she'll piece together this experience into a country western hit, yes?

(Love the post title, by the way.)

Thank you for sharing your story - I am very glad that she is doing so much better. I was horrified that the doctor's didn't try harder to find the cause. Hazel was very lucky that she got the help she needed just in time. Sending good thoughts and best wishes - may this be the Best Christmas ever!

Hi, I followed a link to your blog from a mommy site. When I first read Hazel's story I cried for you and I hoped that she would get better quickly. I followed a second link to the update that she is awake and on the mend. Yay! That's wonderful news!

I am so happy for you and I'm sure you are just so very grateful for your precious Hazel. I can't imagine all the heartache you have endured the past few weeks but I am hoping that you will be able to take Hazel home soon.

Take care!!

A fellow mommy :-)
